The story about the Out Standing Hat begins at Överkstan – a creative conference and coworking space. The place is Rindö Island in Stockholm archipelago, the view is the sea, and the venue the old engine workshop in building 247.

The name. It started with a play with words at Överkstan outdoor office. If you are joining us with your computer at our outdoor office, standing – you are literally out standing at work – right? And since exploring the outdoors greatly affects creativity and productivity, it will probably also make you outstanding at work.  

Be the change. We love exploring the outdoors and nature and want to highlight and favour slow fashion and on-demand production. There’s seldom a need to rush when it comes to consumption. For us, the creative crew at Överkstan, crocheting with care also turned out to be the perfect contrast to our high-speed digital daily work life.  

Lift as you climb. We want to support the people who make a difference if we can. Therefore, we are donating 10% of each purchase to a charity organisation of your choice. 

Find your pair. We want to work with people who dare to stand out for a better cause. And inspire more to join. Like you. We join hands with the craft company MYO. MYO comes from the Swedish mountains, from a small village called Åre. They aim to make the craft industry more responsible. Many of their yarns are produced in Scandinavia or made from recycled materials. All our yarn is from their shop.
